Why did you decide to start AJHLfan.ca?

Well, we often call each other up to discuss the same things die-hard fans of the league discuss – trades, records, fights, and the like. So one day we decided that since we are in the unique position of being able to talk to coaches, general managers, players, and AJHL alumni on a daily basis through our jobs, why not put all that information on a website so that the rest of the fans of the AJHL can see it too? We just thought that there are so many stories out there that somebody should be writing these features and putting the audio up online, so fans can read it and learn more about the league, and in the process raising awareness of the AJHL.

Why are you charging me money to read this stuff? Is it really worth it?

Believe me; we have had a lot of discussions on whether or not we should charge people to read our material. However, the amount of work we all put in is sizable, and with us being a new website, we haven’t been able to get sponsorship on board. In a perfect world, you guys will generate so much traffic to AJHLfan.com that we will have all sorts of sponsors lining up to get their name out there – and if or when that happens, this will be a free website. But until then, unfortunately it’s going to cost you per month. However, this is information that you simply can’t get anywhere else, and if you are a true AJHL fan who is interested in the league and if you have ever wondered whatever became of so-and-so who played five years ago, we can provide that to you.
